May Days
May was one of the busier months I’ve had in a long, long while. It’s always a busy month because it’s a birthday month for my daughters, Ione and Vivian, but this month was also the end of my Kanyen’kéha immersion program. I still can’t quite believe it’s over, and since it officially ended on May 15, it’s been somewhat disorienting finding my way to new routines in the aftermath of it. Writing. Art. More Kanyen’kéha. These are just some of the things I hope to turn my attention to in the year ahead, alongside teaching and research. But for now, I am trying to enjoy the quietness and let the projects I’m meant to be working on make themselves known to me, all while spending more time in one of my favourites spaces again - the writing cabin. I’ll be sure to share a more fulsome update soon!
Keep well,
S.
